Another one of the groups we benefitted over the years was the Annie Moore Memorial Project. In 2008, contributed $15,000 to the project--the bulk of the money used to erect the new $20,000 Celtic cross headstone in Calvary Cemetery. It was to honor the Annie Moore, in the previously unmarked grace of the Irish immigrant young woman who had been the first to set foot on the new Ellis Island processing center on Jan. 1, 1892.
