Concern Worldwide is a global community of humanitarians, partners, community members, supporters, donors, and volunteers who share a common vision of a world where no one lives in poverty, fear, or oppression, and all can exercise their rights to a decent standard of living, can have access to the opportunities and choices essential to a long, healthy, and creative life, and can be treated with dignity and respect.

Concern Worldwide's mission is to help people living in extreme poverty achieve major improvements in their lives that last and spread without ongoing support from Concern.

Their role is to ensure that people living in extreme poverty are able to meet their basic needs, achieve their rights and manage their own development. They do so by working with communities and by using its shared experience and knowledge to address the root causes of extreme poverty. To achieve this mission, we engage in long-term development work and respond to emergency situations.

Concern's approaches are based on specific community needs and guided by a focus on women and children, community empowerment, and innovation — each essential to the lasting elimination of extreme poverty.
